For Stephan Balleux, painting is a global concept which conveys both a visual and a conceptual experience. He studies the medium from an analytical angle, as it evolved. The various techniques (drawing, painting, sculpture, video and special effects) constitute as many fields of investigation.
From these experiences emerges an image, in constant change, erasing any temporality. Like a virus, the pictorial texture propagates itself and its digitalization becomes an eminently contemporary process. The notion of space, this is compromised by the macro/microscopic vision of the painting and the forms that it generates. Ultimately, the ambiguity is total: the painted image seems to be in motion while the digital rendering reveals the painting. The whole work evolves in a stimulating and discontinuous process through the various media.
